Content Area Support (CAS)

Grades 1 – Grades 6

Students qualify based on their homeroom teacher’s recommendation for further academic support. Placement is mandatory based on student’s academic performance. (Additional tuition fees apply.) The student spends 2 hours a week – 4 days of 30 minute lessons – with the homeroom teacher and a small group of students, typically fewer than five, in the same homeroom class.

The goal of the program is to provide more direct support in content areas (English, Math, Science), which improves student performance in these subjects. Students who show sufficient progress in class can pass out of CAS at the middle or end of a semester.

Grades 7 – Grades 12

Students qualify based on their scores in English, Math, and Science on semester & midterm report cards. A score of 59% or below in any of these three subjects will result in a placement in CAS. Placement is mandatory based on student’s academic performance. (Additional tuition fees apply.) The student spends 2 hours a week in the content area (English, Math, Science) with peers of a similar age.

The goal of the program is to provide more direct support in content areas (English, Math, Science) in order to improve student performance in these subjects. Students who earn 60% or higher on their midterm or end of semester report card will pass out of CAS at that time.
