What does the school year look like?
Our school year is made up of two semesters from August to December and January to May. Our holiday breaks are similar to other local schools. For actual dates, you can view our School Calendar page.
Does my child have to wear a school uniform?
What if my child has a food allergy?
If your child has a food allergy, please inform the school office. ICSN cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment, but will take every precaution to ensure your child is not offered ingredients that may trigger the allergy. We will accommodate all children as best as possible, but you are encouraged to provide a snack or lunch for your child if this is a high concern.
How big are your classes?
What are your teachers' qualifications?
All our teachers have (at minimum) bachelor degrees, have undergone background checks and possess experiences related to education and/or early childhood development. Our teachers also embody integral qualities to help your child develop and learn. They are attentive, collaborative, nurturing, passionate and thoughtful. You can learn more about our educators on our Meet Our Faculty page to read about our teaching faculty's experiences and teaching philosophies.
Can parents go onto campus?
We have a closed campus policy to maintain current health and safety precautions, so parents cannot enter school premisses without prior approval. These measures are not meant to be an obstacle for you though! Parents are welcome to make appointments through the main office if they want to meet with the principal, talk to class teachers, or see our facilities.
Is everything at ICSN in English?
At ICSN we prioritize English as the primary language and encourage our students to speak in English for the entirety of their time at the school. We also understand that English may not be the dominant language for all families in our school community. With that in mind, the office and operations staff are native Thai language speakers who can accommodate parents or guardians who would prefer to communicate in Thai. We also have a great bilingual team ready to help with interpretation and translation as needed.

What are the enrollment ages for grades? How does placement work?
ICSN reserves the right to determine the proper placement (based on admissions testing and the principal interview) to ensure that a student learns at a developmentally-appropriate level. Student applicants must be of enrollment age by October 1st or have completed the previous grade equivalent.

What happens when there are no open seats available?
Will my child be okay if they have not gone to an EP or International school before this?
Your child's success in adapting and adjusting to ICSN depends on many factors. Having a student applicant take an English Proficiency Test and have an interview with a School Principal will help us better anticipate how your child would transition to our school's teaching model. Depending on the results of these two steps in the Admissions Process, your child may be accepted, accepted with conditions, or declined at the time.

What textbooks do you use?

When can I see my child's grades?
When your child is enrolled as a student at GES, you will be provided with user login details to ParentsWeb via the email you use in the student application. With ParentsWeb, parents can access their children's grades and see what kind of assignments or projects they have been given by their teachers. It's a great online resource for parents to be able to see the progress of their child's academics. Report cards are distributed twice a year at the end of each semester. It's recommended for parents to directly contact teachers before the final grading period with any questions or requests.
